Sault Police say they thwarted a group of not-so-smart thieves at the scene of downtown break-in early Boxing Day morning.<\/p>\n
It all began around 6:30 a.m., when someone phoned 911 to report a break-and-enter at a business in the 100 block of Queen Street East.<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, they discovered damage to the property \u2014 and a vehicle in the parking lot.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile officers waited with the vehicle \u2014 which was believed to have been left behind by the suspects \u2014 the first accused approached and requested to retrieve items from the vehicle,\u201d says a news release issued this morning by Sault Police.<\/p>\n
The suspect was arrested.<\/p>\n
An investigation revealed two other suspects had broken into the business and stolen merchandise before fleeing the scene, police say.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile officers were investigating, the second accused attempted to retrieve the vehicle they had left behind,” the news release continues. “They were arrested. The third accused also returned to the scene and then ran away from officers. Despite resistance, they were arrested.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tysin Roberts, 19, is charged with:<\/p>\n
\n\tBreak and Enter \u2013 Commit Indictable Offence

<\/p>\n
Gage Zotter, 18, is charged with:<\/p>\n
\n\tBreak and Enter \u2013 Commit Indictable Offence
\n\tTheft \u2013 Over $5,000
\n\tPossession of Break In Instruments
\n\tObstruct Peace Officer
<\/p>\n
All three were released on undertakings and are scheduled back in court on Feb. 23, 2026.<\/p>\n
