George and Amal Clooney, as well as their children, have been granted French citizenship, per the Associated Press<\/a>. The family\u2019s naturalization was reportedly announced over the weekend by the French government.<\/p>\n

The Clooneys have called France home for a few years already. In 2021, they bought an 18th-century mansion<\/a> in the south of France, complete with olive groves, vineyards, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and sprawling gardens. George told Esquire<\/a> in October that they live \u201con a farm in France,\u201d which they apparently particularly enjoy for the privacy it allows their 8-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander. \u201cI was worried about raising our kids in L.\u2009A., in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life,\u201d he said. \u201cFrance \u2014 they kind of don\u2019t give a shit about fame. I don\u2019t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don\u2019t want them being compared to somebody else\u2019s famous kids.\u201d<\/p>\n
