\n\tOn the heels of a new Thor-themed Avengers: Doomsday<\/a> teaser that dropped online today<\/a> and is now appearing in theaters attached to\u00a0Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/a>,\u00a0the God of Thunder\u2019s adopted brother Loki<\/a> is weighing in on his involvement in Joe and Anthony Russo\u2019s forthcoming Marvel epic.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a just-published GQ cover story, Loki actor Tom Hiddleston<\/a> tells the magazine that he recently finished filming Doomsday, with his chacter picking up from the \u201cglorious purpose\u201d that he found at the end of Loki Season 2 in 2023. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cGlorious Purpose\u201d is, of course, the title of the final episode of Season 2 of the Disney+ series. In it, Hiddleston\u2019s character finds new meaning, becoming the God of Stories and safeguarding the entire multiverse by holding infinite branching realities together. Loki is no longer a trickster, but a protector. <\/p>\n

\n\tAs for Avengers: Doomsday, which premieres December 18, 2026, Hiddleston calls it \u201cmonumental.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continues, \u201cThe center of the story is absolutely brilliant, and was so surprising when I read it. It just has never been done before.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tToday\u2019s Thor character teaser also reveals<\/a> a new-ish role for Loki\u2019s brother: Father. In it, Chris Hemsworth\u2019s character is pleading not just for victory in battle, but more importantly for a safe return to his daughter, Love, who is played by Hemsworth\u2019s real-life daughter, India.\u00a0The character first appeared in 2022\u2019s\u00a0Thor: Love and Thunder.<\/p>\n

\n\tHiddleston has played the anti-hero across the MCU for more than a decade, starting with 2011\u2019s\u00a0Thor. He reprised the role in 2012\u2019s\u00a0The Avengers, 2013\u2019s\u00a0Thor: The Dark World, 2015\u2019s\u00a0Avengers: Age of Ultron, 2017\u2019s\u00a0Thor: Ragnarok, 2018\u2019s\u00a0Avengers: Infinity War\u00a0and 2019\u2019s\u00a0Avengers: Endgame.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor\u2019s last big-scrteen appearance as Loki was in 2023\u2019s\u00a0Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.<\/p>\n

\n\tLoki on Disney+, which premiered in 2021 and ran for two seasons, wrapping its second season in 2023.<\/p>\n

\n\tOther actors confirmed<\/a> for\u00a0Avengers: Doomsday\u00a0included Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Florence Pugh (Yelena).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe\u00a0Avengers\u00a0sequel will also see\u00a0X-Men\u00a0stars be part of the MCU for the first time like Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier \/ Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Kelsey Grammer (Beast).<\/p>\n

\n\tMarvel is not only working on\u00a0Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, but also has planned\u00a0Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled to release in May 2027.<\/p>\n
