According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca\/en\/article\/michelle-good?fbclid=IwY2xjawPCVD1leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETFRV1Z1SzV6Q3YzaWxtT1Qyc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHkzYn_okpuNqu2SzY2sr35JcisPftMS82nnABtbNurtBEzD-1bpD5dvUNN9L_aem_dMR7TNzZ55-RqjLklsfGMw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Canadian Encyclopedia<\/a>, Good worked with Indigenous communities and organizations for roughly 25 years before earning her law degree. She graduated from law school at the age of 43. While articling, she was asked to review the cases of five residential school survivors, which ultimately led to her writing the book Five Little Indians while she practised law and obtained a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at the same time. The book won a number of prestigious Canadian literary awards. <\/p>\n<p>Since its creation in 1967, more than 8,250 people have been appointed to the Order as trailblazers through various contributions who have enriched the lives of others and made a difference to the country. <\/p>\n<p>In a press release, Simon said: \u201cThe Order of Canada fosters a sense of pride and cohesion in our country. Every appointment celebrates not only the talent, expertise and dedication of individuals, but also the countless lives they have touched through their work, vision and contributions. Their commitment extends beyond borders, inspiring progress in our communities, our country and around the world.
