Everyone knows an undefeated record in mixed martial arts (MMA) is a rare and precious commodity<\/a> that can significantly elevate a fighter\u2019s career. Indeed, that coveted zero at the end of a record doesn\u2019t just represent perfection \u2014 it builds a fighter\u2019s mystique, boosts their marketability, and generates unparalleled hype among fans.<\/p>\n

Some special fighters even live in imperfect denial<\/a> … often<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, MMA is an unforgiving sport where chaos reigns, and perfection is difficult to maintain. Losses are almost inevitable, and in all likelihood, someone\u2019s pristine \u201cO\u201d will eventually vanish.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, let\u2019s look at who lost their pristine, undefeated records in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2025.<\/p>\n

One of the most hyped prospects in MMA, Austin Bashi, dropped a unanimous decision to Christian Rodriguez on UFC\u2019s card of 2025, nuking his undefeated record.<\/p>\n

Magomed Gadzhiyasulov lost a unanimous decision to Bruno Lopes in a pretty awful fight. He has since been released from UFC.<\/p>\n

UFC 311<\/a>
Opponent: Merab Dvalishvili<\/p>\n

UFC 311<\/a> saw four fighters lose their coveted undefeated records. The most notable was Umar Nurmagomedov, who lost a unanimous decision<\/a> to Bantamweight champion, Merab Dvalishvili. He then got stomped while he was down<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One of the most hyped UFC prospects, Payton Talbott, was dominated<\/a> by Brazilian Octagon veteran, Raoni Barcleos, at UFC 311, dropping a unanimous decision and derailing his hype train … for now. Talbott was a mind-boggling -1100 betting favorite<\/a>, too.<\/p>\n

UFC 311<\/a>
Opponent: Muin Gafurov<\/p>\n

No one saw this one coming. Multi-time Japanese wrestling champion, Rinya Nakamura didn\u2019t use his world-class grappling whatsoever at UFC 311, resulting in him getting out-struck by Muin Gafurov.<\/p>\n

Top prospect and Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace, Kody Steele \u2014 who was a 3:1 favorite over Chinese fighter, Rongzhu \u2014 lost a unanimous decision on UFC 312\u2019s \u201cPrelims\u201d undercard.<\/p>\n

He got an extra $50,000 for \u201cFight of the Night,<\/a>\u201d though.<\/p>\n
