TRT World reported that Jolie visited the Egyptian side of the crossing, speaking with members of the Red Cross\u2019s Red Crescent and truck drivers ferrying humanitarian aid into Gaza. A Red Crescent volunteer told Jolie that \u201cthere are thousands of aid trucks just waiting\u201d at the border crossing, reported the outlet. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-deadline-2019\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.jpg\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/GettyImages-2253758622.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"683\" width=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tImage: AFP via Getty<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Rafah Crossing is the only crossing point between Egypt and Palestine\u2019s Gaza Strip, playing a major role in bringing aid into Gaza since the Israeli attacks that were a response to the October 7 2023 massacre. Although a ceasefire has been reached, humanitarian aid is still desperately needed. At least 70,000 people are reported to have been killed since the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/israel\/\" id=\"auto-tag_israel\" data-tag=\"israel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Israel<\/a>-Hamas War started more than two years ago, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. Much of Gaza has been destroyed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tJolie is an Oscar-winning star of Girl, Interrupted, Tomb Raider and Mr &amp; Mrs. Smith, but she is also known for her humanitarian work.
