As the New York Knicks<\/a> prepare for action against the Atlanta Hawks<\/a>, the NBA announced the league\u2019s top players of the month.<\/p>\n

Jalen Brunson has been acknowledged as the Eastern Conference\u2019s top player for December.<\/p>\n

The Knicks star is sharing the honor with Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a> guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.<\/p>\n

Via @NBAPR: Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson have been named the Kia NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Month, respectively, for games played in December.<\/p>\n

Brunson played in all but one of the Knicks\u2019 14 games in December.<\/p>\n

During those matchups, he saw the court for just under 40 minutes per game. The star guard produced on 47 percent of his shots from the field. He averaged 40 percent from three, while taking 8.9 attempts per game.<\/p>\n

Brunson produced 30.6 points per game, along with 7.1 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and nearly one steal per game. The Knicks achieved a 10-3 record during that stretch.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the NBA announced the NBA All-Star vote leaders. Brunson is third in the Eastern Conference with over one million votes.
