The North Shore Health Network (NSHN) has secured physician coverage for Jan. 1, 2026. The Thessalon ER will still be closed from\u00a08 a.m. on Wednesday Dec. 31, reopening at 8 a.m. on Thursday Jan. 1.<\/p>\n

The North Shore Health Network says\u00a0physician shortages will force the closure of the Emergency Department at the Thessalon Site from 8 a.m.on Dec. 31 and reopening at 8 a.m. on Jan. 2.<\/p>\n
Anyone who needs immediate medical attention should call 911. Ambulances will be re-routed to one of the following closest Emergency Departments to the Thessalon Site:<\/p>\n
\n\tBlind River Site \u2013 North Shore Health Network \u2013 525 Causley St., Blind River.
\n\tRichards Landing Site \u2013 North Shore Health Network \u2013 1180 Richards St., Richards Landing.
\n\tSault Area Hospital \u2013 750 Great Northern Rd., Sault Ste. Marie.
