Stubbington from Armstrong OPP spotted something truly special while on patrol \u2014 a family of five Canada lynx: two adults and three kittens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">While the lynx look like housecats, they are ferocious hunters that are hard to spot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe lynx is mainly a solitary animal. They only travel in pairs during the mating season or in small groups when the kittens follow their mother during their first year,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/parks.canada.ca\/pn-np\/on\/pukaskwa\/nature\/faune-wildlife\/mammiferes-mammals\/lynx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/parks.canada.ca\/pn-np\/on\/pukaskwa\/nature\/faune-wildlife\/mammiferes-mammals\/lynx\">Parks Canada.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/YTZ2MOUBPVFLBHN2FRNS55WTH4.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/>Armstrong lynx1 A family of five lynx were spotted crossing a road in Armstrong, Ont., on New Year&#8217;s Eve. (Photo from video) <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cLynx hunt on the ground and rely heavily on their sight and hearing, and surprisingly very little on their sense of smell. They prowl silently through the forest, making regular pauses to survey the area.
