Randy Arozarena is one offseason away from a major payday.<\/p>\n

That’s because when his contract is up at the end of the 2026 MLB season, the Seattle Mariners<\/a>‘ slugger will be one of the few impact bats available in free agency.<\/p>\n

It’s always a bit of suspense whether players will even get there without signing extensions, of course, but Arozarena’s bat is part of a group that will likely be led by Jazz Chisholm.<\/p>\n

Most of the top-10 free agents will be pitchers.<\/p>\n

That sets up great for Arozarena’s bank account.<\/p>\n

“Although he\u2019s three years older than Chisholm, Arozarena is in a similar spot as one of the best pending free agents in a class lacking impact bats,” MLB.com’s Thomas Harrigan writes<\/a>. “He\u2019s also a comparable talent, at least on offense, having recorded five straight 20-20 seasons with a collective 120 OPS+ in that span. A high strikeout rate and Seattle\u2019s pitcher-friendly home park are the main obstacles to a standout walk year, but neither has slowed him down so far.”<\/p>\n

Other free agent outfielders who could rival Arozarena in interest level next offseason include George Springer, Seiya Suzuki, Taylor Ward, Luis Robert Jr. and Ian Happ (although Robert has a club option that will likely be activated).<\/p>\n

That actually is a fascinating outfield class where it wouldn’t be obvious which guy might get the most money.<\/p>\n

Arozarena could end up at the top of if he’s coming off a strong season. The Mariners sure hope he can have a great 2026 and lead them into contention once again before worrying about what comes after that.<\/p>\n
