If that timeline holds, it also means we’ll likely have to wait until March before the stable One UI 8.5 update starts rolling out. That’s still a while away. But Samsung doesn’t seem interested in slowing things down just yet. In fact, the One UI 8.5 beta program is picking up pace, and a third beta may release soon.

You could soon create custom sticker packs using photos or text in One UI 8.5

We’ve already rounded up all the One UI 8.5 features that Samsung is working on, and quite a few of them still haven’t shown up in the public beta builds. That’s not unusual. Some of Samsung’s more interesting features often stay hidden until late in development, or only show up in pre-release builds. And that’s exactly where this new one was spotted.

While digging through a pre-release One UI 8.5 build, our own Josh noticed Samsung teasing an AI-powered custom sticker generator inside the Tips app. According to the description, users will be able to “use a photo or a text prompt to create custom stickers and sticker packs you can send in your favorite apps.” In other words, Samsung wants you to generate your own stickers instead of relying on whatever packs are already available.

The company hasn’t revealed which model is powering the feature. But considering how closely Samsung and Google are working these days, Gemini’s Nano Banana wouldn’t be surprising. There’s also no confirmation on whether sticker generation happens fully on-device or processes online. Realistically, it’ll probably be cloud-based, but we’ll know soon.

That said, this feels like one of those features that sounds gimmicky on paper but could end up being genuinely useful. Well, being able to generate your own using a photo or a quick text prompt could be a fun way to personalize conversations. This could be a fun addition in the friends and family group chats. I just wish Samsung had pushed this around Christmas, sigh.
