A reel shared on New Year\u2019s Eve by the official account for The White House across social media appears to have been met with a takedown request from Linkin Park. That brief video, touting the accomplishments of current U.S. President Donald Trump, is said to have used Linkin Park\u2018s 2003 single \u201cSomewhere I Belong\u201d as its soundtrack.<\/p>\n
The band\u2019s camp are reported to taken the steps to have the clip removed for the apparent unauthorized usage of their material. Interestingly, Linkin Park have encountered this issue several times prior, perhaps most infamously back in 2020 when they filed a cease and desist<\/a> against the Trump administration for the unauthorized usage of the band\u2019s diamond-certified 2000 single \u201cIn The End\u201c. That song showed up in a Trump presidential campaign advertisement. At that time Linkin Park stated:<\/p>\n \u201cLinkin Park did not and does not endorse Trump, nor authorize his organization to use any of our music. A cease and desist has been issued.\u201d<\/p>\n Prior to his 2017 passing, former Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington made clear his views on President Trump, stating on social media<\/a>:<\/p>\n \u201cI repeat\u2026.. Trump is a greater threat to the USA than terrorism!!
