{"id":387644,"date":"2026-01-04T13:19:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T13:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/387644\/"},"modified":"2026-01-04T13:19:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T13:19:12","slug":"former-wwe-star-cast-in-upcoming-horror-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/387644\/","title":{"rendered":"Former WWE Star Cast In Upcoming Horror Movie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrestlezone.com\/tag\/wwe\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WWE<\/a> Superstar has landed a role in an upcoming horror movie.<\/p>\n<p>Marty Wright, known to wrestling fans as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrestlezone.com\/tag\/the-boogeyman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Boogeyman<\/a>, has been cast in Halloween Candy 2, which is currently in production.<\/p>\n<p>Produced by Scared Stiff Films, Halloween Candy 2 is expected to be released later this year. Scared Stiff Films is a small production company founded in 2008, and has produced and released over 80 short horror films on its YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<p>The first installment of the anthology, Halloween Candy, was released in March 2025 through Terror Films Releasing. It is available to stream on Tubi, Amazon Prime, and other major streaming platforms.<\/p>\n<p>While the first film was independently financed by writer-director Douglas A. Plomitallo, the team behind Halloween Candy 2 has launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiegogo.com\/en\/projects\/dougplomitallo\/halloween-candy-2-anthology-horror-film#\/section\/project-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">crowdfunding campaign<\/a> to bring the sequel to life.<\/p>\n<p>The Boogeyman still appears occasionally in WWE\u2019s social media clips. Actor Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet also recently gave a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrestlezone.com\/news\/1595474-timothee-chalamet-praises-infamous-wwe-star-as-one-of-the-most-underrated\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shoutout<\/a> to Marty Wright during his appearance on Cody Rhodes\u2019 What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo me, as a big sports fan, big Knicks fan, also a huge fan of acting, and Hollywood, this (WWE) was the intersection, growing up. That is for charismatic on-the-mic guys like\u00a0The Rock\u00a0and Stone Cold, but also like Marty Wright, The Boogeyman. Like freaky, out of left field sh*t. He was a Tough Enough contestant. He is sort of one of the most underrated.
