\n\tChelsea Handler<\/a> didn\u2019t hold back at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards<\/a>. During her opening monologue at Santa Monica\u2019s Barker Hanger on Jan. 4, the comedian went through all the big nominees, starting early with Leonardo DiCaprio<\/a>, who\u2019s part of one of the biggest movies of the year, \u201cOne Battle After Another.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLeo almost didn\u2019t make it tonight because he was trapped on a boat in St. Barts,\u201d Handler said, as DiCaprio laughed. \u201cIt was just like the \u2018Titanic,\u2019 but worse, because Jeff Bezos<\/a> was there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLast week, DiCaprio and his girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, were spotted with Bezos and Lauren S\u00e1nchez on a superyacht in St. Barts. While he did attend the Critics\u2019 Choice Awards, he didn\u2019t make the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala <\/a>the night before, since he wasn\u2019t able to fly due to FAA air traffic control issues following the attack on Venezuela.<\/p>\n

\n\tLater on, Handler brought up Paramount+\u2019s \u201cLandman,\u201d first warning the crowd of a \u201cspoiler alert\u201d about a recent episode. \u201cBilly Bob Thornton went full frontal,\u201d she said. \u201cTaylor Sheridan said it was nice to have a dick on set that wasn\u2019t Kevin Costner.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe also took a swing at Warner Bros CEO David Zaslav while discussing the blockbuster hit \u201cSinners.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c\u2018Sinners\u2019 is the story of brothers who start this really fun place for entertainment, and then vampires show up, suck the life out of everybody and burn it all to the ground,\u201d she began. \u201cFun fact, the original name of the main vampire was David Zaslav.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe awards show marks the first of 2026 and will set the tone for awards season. On the film side, Ryan Coogler\u2019s \u201cSinners\u201d leads with 17 nominations, including best picture; Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s \u201cOne Battle After Another\u201d follows closely behind with 14 nods. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn the TV categories, much like the Emmys, Netflix\u2019s \u201cAdolescence\u201d tops the list with six nominations, with the streamer\u2019s \u201cNobody Wants This\u201d close behind with five. \u201cThe Pitt,\u201d \u201cAll Her Fault,\u201d \u201cSeverance,\u201d \u201cThe Diplomat,\u201d \u201cGhosts\u201d and \u201cDeath by Lightning\u201d all landed four noms each.<\/p>\n
