For transactions exceeding this amount, you will be required to use your physical card,&#8221; it added in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maybank2u.com.my\/maybank2u\/malaysia\/en\/personal\/announcements\/2026\/january\/googlepay-contactless-transaction-limits.page?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">announcement<\/a> on its website today (Jan 5).<\/p>\n<p>For debit card holders, each Google Pay contactless transaction is capped at RM2,500.\u00a0Transactions exceeding the daily purchase limit set by the cardholder will be declined.<\/p>\n<p>For added security, cardholders may choose to set their Google Pay transaction limit to below RM2,500 by adjusting their debit card purchase limit on the M2U platform.<\/p>\n<p>Credit card users can continue to perform multiple Google Pay contactless transactions up to their card\u2019s available limit, as long as each transaction does not exceed RM2,500.<\/p>\n<p>Maybank <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/wallet\/answer\/12059326?hl=en&amp;co=GENIE.CountryCode%3DMY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">introduced<\/a> Google Pay support to users in Malaysia in May 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The feature lets users link Visa or Mastercard cards to their Google Wallet app on Android devices, enabling contactless payments directly through their device.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Maybank has announced a new contactless transaction limit for Google Pay.
