Sen. Elissa Slotkin\u2019s (D-MI) interview with Stephen Colbert didn\u2019t sit well with podcaster Megyn Kelly \u2014 in fact, it reminded her how badly she wanted to punch her in the face, she said Thursday.<\/p>\n

On \u201cThe Megyn Kelly Show,\u201d the host slammed Slotkin over her interview on \u201cThe Late Show\u201d about the Deep State and the military. While talking about the interview, Kelly walked listeners back to the confirmation hearings for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and how \u201ccondescending\u201d the senator was.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis woman is one of the most annoying women in politics, [and] people in politics,\u201d Kelly said. \u201cWhen she was at that Pete Hegseth confirmation hearing, I wanted to punch her in the face. She was so condescending to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cEvery comment was like, \u2018I will accept that you might actually care about the men and women in uniform.\u2019 Eff you. He doesn\u2019t need your pat on the head. He\u2019s been there and done that. He\u2019s got buddies he lost. He doesn\u2019t need you, Elissa Slotkin, to verify his courage, his patriotism, love of country and so on. It\u2019s just so infuriating \u2026 She\u2019s so f\u2013king annoying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly has been going after Colbert and his show particularly hard in the wake of CBS\u2019 decision to cancel the show. She suggested that the late-night host \u201cput on your big boy pants and take it like a man.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMany of us have had very public cancellations and some were absolutely brutal,\u201d Kelly added. \u201cAnd we didn\u2019t invite all our friends to come cry on the set and say, \u2018Poor poor her. Poor poor him. American democracy will not be the same.\u2019 Some of us took it like professionals, then picked ourselves up, dusted ourselves off, and moved on with life. Is this how it\u2019s going to be for the next year? Watching this crybaby try to play the victim that his show got cancelled? Grow up. It\u2019s called television, you toddler.\u201d<\/p>\n

Representatives for Sen. Slotkin did not respond to TheWrap\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n
