When it came to star signings, 2025 was a relatively quiet season in the women\u2019s transfer market.<\/p>\n

There were a few high-profile deals: Lotte Claes, Nienke Vinke, Charlotte Kool, and Letizia Borghesi all changed teams, two of them mid-contract, but overall, most teams stayed relatively stable, having gone through wholesale contract cycles during the 2024 Olympic year.<\/p>\n

That means that 2026 will be another fast-paced and busy market for the teams within the Women\u2019s WorldTour, and there\u2019s a chance that there could be even more activity than two years ago, with team bosses and rider agents expecting an upsurge in mid-contract moves, and of course, the anticipation that Decathlon CMA CGM will launch a women\u2019s outfit for 2027.<\/p>\n

One key trend we\u2019re hearing about is riders pushing for three-year deals rather than the typical two-year contracts. That\u2019s because athletes would prefer to enter the next Olympic cycle in 2028 without the pressure of needing a new contract and instead want to start that all-important season with Olympic selection as their primary concern, not the search for a team.<\/p>\n

As it was two years ago, the biggest name in the transfer market is Demi Vollering. The Dutch rider signed with FDJ United – SUEZ at the start of 2025 on a two-year deal, but heads into the new season with her contract up for renewal.<\/p>\n

Rival teams will certainly express interest in the all-rounder and the winner of the 2023 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. A consistent champion from the start of the year until the end, she remains a complete leader, and it will be telling as to whether FDJ boss Stephen Delcourt can put potential rumours to bed early in the campaign and agree a new contract with his star rider before the Spring Classics, when most contracts are signed.<\/p>\n

Make no mistake, rival teams will negotiate for Vollering from the outset of the season, and it\u2019s essential to reference the fact that her personal contract with Specialized is also up for renewal. <\/p>\n
