<\/p>\nSaskatchewan receiver Tommy Nield caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Trevor Harris with just 11 seconds remaining in the Riders\u2019 24-21 victory. <\/p>\n

In the Grey Cup game, Montreal led 7-1 after the first quarter, but Saskatchewan stormed back with 24 straight points to take a 25-7 lead. <\/p>\n
The Alouettes battled back to make it close in the end, but it was too little, too late as the Riders hung on for the victory. <\/p>\n
The game\u2019s MVP was Trevor Harris, who went 23 for 27 in the air for 302 yards. <\/p>\n
However, the win was truly a team effort, with the defense securing interceptions from Marcus Sayles, Rolan Milligan Jr., and Tevaughn Campbell, who also had a key fumble recovery at the goal line to stop a Montreal touchdown. <\/p>\n
The offensive line, one of the best in the CFL all season long, did not allow a sack in the game, giving Harris time to find open receivers. They also opened holes for running back A.J. Ouelette, who had 83 yards on the ground. <\/p>\n
Melfort native Logan Ferland was the anchor of that offensive line as the centre, and he told the Canadian Press the win will mean a six-month celebration across Rider Nation. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a long off-season of celebrations,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
The 2025 Jake Gaudaur Veterans\u2019 Award Winner was thrilled with the victory, especially being a Saskatchewan boy. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the dream,\u201d said Ferland. \u201cThis has been the dream since I started playing football.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very hard to fathom, I\u2019m still pinching myself. It\u2019s going to take a while to soak in.\u201d <\/p>\n
Ferland\u2019s high school football coach, Dave Rogers of the Melfort Comets, told northeastNOW he was incredibly happy for Ferland. <\/p>\n
\u201cLogan did such a great job, and he\u2019s done a great job his whole career,\u201d Rogers said. <\/p>\n
He added Ferland is a great representative of the Riders, the community, and of himself and his family. <\/p>\n
\u201c[Ferland] comes back into Melfort and participates in all sorts of activities here around our community, and he\u2019s just a wonderful human being.\u201d <\/p>\n
Thousands of jubilant Rider fans packed the Green Mile and gathered at the Legislature to celebrate the victory. Saskatchewan also won Grey Cups in 1966, 1989, 2007, and 2013. <\/p>\n
