Users <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/youtube\/comments\/1meeogf\/getting_a_network_error_on_my_samsung_tv\/?sort=new\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">across Reddit<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/eu.community.samsung.com\/t5\/tv\/server-under-maintenance-888-1-samsung-services-are-down\/td-p\/12928952\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Samsung\u2019s community forum<\/a> started reporting issues with their TVs at around 5PM ET on Thursday, finding themselves unable to open apps like YouTube, Apple TV, Hulu, and Prime Video.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">While apps were still visible on the Samsung TV menu, attempting to open them would display a variety of error messages, such as those related to server maintenance, certification errors, and lost connectivity. Many users found that Netflix was unaffected by the outages, which uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/22787426\/netflix-cdn-open-connect\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">its own content delivery network<\/a> \u2014 suggesting that the issues were connected to the servers used by other streaming apps.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The cause of the outage is currently unclear, however, and Samsung has not publicly acknowledged the issues on its website or social channels. We have reached out to Samsung for more information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">One Redditor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/youtube\/comments\/1megci4\/comment\/n6adow2\/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">claimed to get a response<\/a> from Samsung support, saying the company was \u201caware of a potential disruption of service on your Samsung TV,\u201d and that its engineers were attempting to restore service \u201cas soon as possible.\u201d The issues appeared to be widespread, with Samsung TV users across multiple countries reporting that they were locked out of their apps.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Whatever caused it, several users are now seeing a return to normal operation.
