Jovic overcame a 3-1 deficit in the opening set and recorded the decisive break in the ninth game of the second set, advancing to face Belgium’s Sofia Costoulas. Costoulas needed only 67 minutes to finish a 6-2, 6-0 win over Spain’s Kaitlin Quevedo.<\/p>\n

The second-seeded Anisimova crushed Australia’s Kimberly Birrell 6-1, 6-3 in 63 minutes, while the fourth-seeded Pegula needed nearly two hours to complete a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win against Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya.<\/p>\n
