Marc Jacobs isn\u2019t getting any California love from billboard queen Angelyne,<\/a> it seems. <\/p>\n

The designer recently debuted his new \u201cThe City\u201d tote collection with bags inspired by Paris, New York and LA \u2014 featuring a drawing of a busty woman seductively posing above Hollywood signage. <\/p>\n

Eagle-eyed fans of Angelyne noticed a striking similarity to one of her famous billboards, and are crying foul.<\/p>\n

Angelyne is regularly spotted driving her pink rides around LA. GC Images<\/p>\n

Music producer and DJ Cazwell, who is very clearly a fan of the \u201cBimbo Baby\u201d singer also took notice.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, he posted a reel of Angelyne reposting comments like, \u201c@marcjacobs either compensate angelyne or stop. This is thievery.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hollywood icon also reposted London based street artist, Pegasus, who wrote they were \u201cshocked at the poor execution\u201d on the bag.<\/p>\n

\u201cGirl be angry with the fact they made you look like Gumby. Let\u2019s partner up and create a bag worth carrying,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n

Cazwell, who said he once bought an Angelyne T-shirt out of the trunk of one of her pink Corvettes for $40, advised Jacobs \u201cto put some money inside the pockets of someone, who clearly has inspired you. I hope you make the right choice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Angelyne\u2019s rise to \u201980s billboard stardom in LA was chronicled in the 2022 Peacock series \u201cAngelyne,\u201d <\/a>starring Emmy Rossum. <\/p>\n

Other than reposting her fan\u2019s reactions, the mysterious star, who ran for governor of California twice, hasn\u2019t spoken out about Jacobs\u2019 totes. But she\u2019s still not one to bite her tongue historically.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Inside Edition at the time, Angelyne said she refused to watch Rossum\u2019s series. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t do me justice. Would you be flattered if someone played you and misrepresented you?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She further said in a seperate post, \u201cIt is my true feeling and opinion that even though people can dress up like me \u2014 and that\u2019s wonderful \u2014 but I think they should never, ever, ever pretend to be Angelyne.\u201d<\/p>\n

A male voice message greeted us when we called the star, and gave us the option to fax or leave a \u201cmagnificent message.\u201d<\/p>\n

We hope our message was magnificent enough to get a warm welcome from the LA icon when the California Post makes it debut on Jan. 26<\/a>.<\/p>\n
