Though there are perks of playing in the CFL, it certainly doesn\u2019t have the same glitz and glamour of suiting up in the NFL.<\/p>\n
While there are plenty of CFL fans scattered throughout Canada, it is well known that those playing in the league have far fewer amenities than those playing at the highest level south of the border.<\/p>\n
Players seemingly feel the same way, as proven in the annual club report cards released by the CFL Player Association on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
In total, 381 players took time to respond to the survey, and while there were plenty of positive answers, there were also a ton of negatives.<\/p>\n
One city in particular that was on the receiving end of several negative reviews was Edmonton. It seems that many players coming to face the Elks weren\u2019t too thrilled with their hotel situation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe hotel in Edmonton is unacceptable,\u201d one player was quoted as saying. The article also mentioned that the accommodations in Edmonton for visiting players were the most commented issue amongst the players surveyed.<\/p>\n
It wasn\u2019t just opposing players who had complaints about Edmonton, either.<\/p>\n
\u201cTerrible rehab planning and extremely inconsistent,\u201d one player said of the Elks. \u201cLack of useful feedback in order to progress from being injured. Lack of treatment to both injured and non-injured players.\u201d<\/p>\n
And while Edmonton may have gotten it the worst, they were far from the only organization that received complaints in this year\u2019s survey.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe workout gear we are provided is poor quality and does not meet a professional football standard in my opinion,\u201d one player said of the Toronto Argonauts. \u201cAlso, the lack of team gear given to us causes players to spend their own money.\u201d<\/p>\n
One team that had no complaints was the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, a team that also fared very well in\u00a0last year\u2019s survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cMy club ranked highly last year and still elected to make improvements,\u201d one player chimed in. \u201cThis club is the class of the CFL and [goes] beyond the call of duty.
