A beloved bar in Oakland has announced it will be closing this spring.<\/p>\n
Hemingway\u2019s on Forbes Avenue will close in May after over 40 years in business.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are incredibly sad to be closing this chapter, but we are deeply grateful for over 40 years of memories, laughter, late nights, friendships, and traditions shared within these walls,\u201d Hemingway\u2019s wrote <\/a>on social media.<\/p>\n The bar in the heart of Pitt\u2019s campus is inviting everyone to stop in before May to \u201cgrab a shot pitcher, find your picture on the way, relive the moments that made Hems Hems.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI truly appreciate every employee we\u2019ve had and every customer we\u2019ve served. I\u2019ve had a ball,\u201d said owner John Elavsky.<\/p>\n Hemingway\u2019s adds they\u2019re selling a limited amount of merchandize and will be available until its gone.<\/p>\n Comments to the bar\u2019s upcoming closure expressed shock and sadness.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sick,\u201d said one person.<\/p>\n \u201cOh my God, that\u2019s terrible\u201d, \u201cNOOOO\u201d and \u201cHow could this happen\u201d were just some of the comments.<\/p>\n Hemingway\u2019s opened in 1983.
