A public in-remembrance service to honor former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and the six other victims who died in a mid-December plane crash will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, at Bojangles Coliseum.<\/p>\n

The gathering is open to the public and will also be streamed live on NASCAR.com, NASCAR Facebook, The NASCAR Channel and NASCAR YouTube. Doors will open at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

Greg Biffle, the former NASCAR driver and Hall of Fame nominee whose work during Hurricane Helene saved countless lives across western North Carolina, died in a Statesville plane crash on Dec. 18, 2025. He was 55 years old.<\/p>\n

Biffle, his wife, their two children and three others perished during a plane crash on Dec. 18, 2025,<\/a> at the Statesville Regional Airport. He was 55. The plane was owned by Biffle. The cause of the crash has not been revealed.<\/p>\n

Named one of NASCAR\u2019s 75 greatest drivers, Biffle was an experienced pilot who took the lead on several rescue missions<\/a> during Hurricane Helene \u2014 providing supplies to communities in need.<\/p>\n

RFK Museum tribute<\/p>\n

RFK Racing unveiled a memorial this week to pay tribute to Biffle, who spent the majority of his career with the team.<\/p>\n

The museum display includes the No. 16 car Biffle drove to secure Ford\u2019s 1,000th NASCAR victory in June 2013.<\/p>\n
