\n\tKat Dennings<\/a> told Entertainment Tonight<\/a> on the set of her ABC sitcom \u201cShifting Gears\u201d that Marvel scanned her so that her likeness can be used in future projects. Dennings has been a part of the MCU since debuting as Darcy Lewis in 2011\u2019s \u201cThor.\u201d She also appeared in \u201cThor: The Dark World,\u201d \u201cThor: Love and Thunder,\u201d \u201cWandaVision\u201d and more. The revelation about Marvel scanning her came up when Dennings was asked about starring in the upcoming Marvel tentpole, \u201cAvengers: Doomsday.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhat\u2019s \u2018Doomsday\u2019? Oh \u2018Avengers: Doomsday.\u2019 I thought you meant our show. Like, is that the finale?\u201d Dennings quipped. \u201cI am in the [Marvel] universe and, as you know, I can\u2019t tell you anything. But I am not in it. I mean, I\u2019m not in it. I am telling you right now, I\u2019m not in it. If I were in it, which I\u2019m not, I couldn\u2019t tell you, but I literally am not. I\u2019m sure they already filmed it. I was here [on set]. I\u2019m not in it. But they did scan me, so to be honest they could put me in anything they want at this point. I\u2019m in the system.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDennings\u2019 most recent MCU appearance came in the animated series \u201cWhat If\u2026?\u201d She voiced Darcy in four episodes of the show. Her future with Marvel is unknown at this time, as is how the studio intends to use her likeness.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for \u201cAvengers: Doomsday,\u201d the upcoming Marvel tentpole is being co-headlined by Dennings\u2019 frequent MCU co-star Chris Hemsworth. The Australian star is back as Thor, who was even given a standalone \u201cDoomsday\u201d teaser<\/a> trailer that suggests he\u2019ll play a big part in the movie.<\/p>\n

\n\tBody scanning actors is becoming an increasingly common practice in Hollywood to much divisiveness from the industry. Nicolas Cage\u00a0made headlines<\/a> last year when he told The New Yorker<\/a>\u00a0that he is terrified of AI and is hoping recent body scans he had to do for two upcoming projects aren\u2019t used as reference for AI technology to recreate him on screen after his death. One of the projects is Prime Video\u2019s \u201cSpider-Man Noir.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey have to put me in a computer and match my eye color and change \u2014 I don\u2019t know,\u201d Cage said. \u201cThey\u2019re just going to steal my body and do whatever they want with it via digital AI. \u2026 God, I hope not AI. I\u2019m terrified of that. I\u2019ve been very vocal about it. \u2026 And it makes me wonder, you know, where will the truth of the artists end up? Is it going to be replaced? Is it going to be transmogrified? Where\u2019s the heartbeat going to be? I mean, what are you going to do with my body and my face when I\u2019m dead? I don\u2019t want you to do anything with it!\u201d<\/p>\n
