With the Chicago Cubs<\/a> trading for Edward Cabrera, the Baltimore Orioles<\/a> will need to look elsewhere for another starting pitcher to support Trevor Rogers as a No. 2 in the rotation.<\/p>\n

Fansided\u2019s Christopher Kline<\/a> believes that the O\u2019s should go in the direction of signing All-Star ace Ranger Suarez, whose reliability and firepower would fit perfectly in Baltimore\u2019s rotation.<\/p>\n

This past season, Suarez posted a 12-8 record, a 3.20 ERA, 151 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.220 over 157 innings pitched. He\u2019s durable, he wins, and he strikes batters out. All qualities a front-end starter needs.<\/p>\n

Suarez is projected to receive<\/a> a six-year, $161 million contract this offseason, and for the O\u2019s, that may be ok. They\u2019ve already proved they are ready to spend this offseason when they signed Pete Alonso<\/a> to a five-year, $155 million deal.<\/p>\n

If the Orioles are truly serious about creating a contender, then going out and getting Suarez is the right move. If they do, they\u2019ll be a force to be reckoned with in the American League.<\/p>\n
