FORT MYERS, Fla. \u2014 The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s tennis team opened its season against Louisiana on Saturday but fell 4\u20133 to the Ragin’ Cajuns despite a late rally.<\/p>\n
The Eagles (0\u20131) dropped the doubles point, with the lone win coming from Pablo Paternostro<\/a> and Mika Bunjes<\/a> on court No. 2.<\/p>\n In singles play, Harry Michalowski<\/a> fell to extend Louisiana’s lead to 2\u20130, and Bunjes’\u00a0loss put FGCU in a 3\u20130 hole. The Eagles responded as Paternostro earned a 6\u20133, 6\u20134 win on court No. 3 to get FGCU on the scoreboard.<\/p>\n \u00a0Newcomer Tanner Povey<\/a> battled to a 7\u20136 (5), 6\u20134 victory on court No. 1, cutting the deficit.
