For a moment, it looked like the Edmonton Oilers finally found a way to string together three straight victories on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
Connor McDavid crashed the net in OT against LA Kings goaltender Anton Forsberg and nudged the puck over the goal line. The Rogers Place faithful went wild, celebrating the apparent win, but the refs gave an emphatic \u201cno goal\u201d call before reviewing the play.<\/p>\n

The Oilers couldn\u2019t find a way to end the game after that and eventually fell in the shootout.<\/p>\n It was a damper on what should have been a celebratory night for the team, with a special pre-game ceremony for Leon Draisaitl\u2019s 1,000th NHL point.<\/p>\n McDavid told reporters his perspective on the disallowed goal after the loss.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like I have the puck and I\u2019m taking it to the net,\u201d McDavid explained. \u201cI\u2019m getting pushed in. I feel like I also kinda maybe tapped it in on the other side.<\/p>\n \u201cThe refs and situation room have to make a call, and they felt differently. He scored a timely equalizing goal on a third-period five-on-three power play, extending his point streak to a career-high 18 games.<\/p>\n He also got some support from head coach Kris Knoblauch, who gave his honest thoughts on the overturned goal.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought it should have counted,\u201d Knoblauch said. \u201cI thought he was driving the net, and you don\u2019t usually see that turned over.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought he just drove the puck around the pad and beat him.
