\n\tA month after Quentin Tarantino<\/a> made headlines for slamming actors Paul Dano<\/a>, Owen Wilson and Matthew Lillard, George Clooney<\/a> is making it known where he stands. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBy the way, Paul Dano and Owen Wilson and Matthew Lillard, I would be honored to work with those actors. Honored,\u201d Clooney said while accepting his best actor award for \u201cJay Kelly\u201d at AARP\u2019s Movies for Grownups Awards on Saturday.\u00a0He described \u201cJay Kelly\u201d as being \u201cmade by people who love actors \u2014 that\u2019s an important part. People I\u2019ve known most of my life\u2026 actually, most of them are actors. I have a great affinity [for them], and I don\u2019t enjoy watching people be cruel.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are living in a time of cruelty,\u201d the star continued. \u201cWe don\u2019t need to be adding to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn December 2025, Tarantino made headlines for a range of claims against Dano, Wilson and Lillard. The \u201cPulp Fiction\u201d director called Dano \u201cthe weakest fucking actor in SAG<\/a>,\u201d said he \u201ccan\u2019t stand\u201d Wilson and stated that he doesn\u2019t care for Lillard<\/a>. Back in 2024, the director also fired a shot at Clooney, claiming the Oscar-winning actor wasn\u2019t a movie star. The two previously starred in the 1996 Rober Rodriquez film \u201cFrom Dusk Till Dawn\u201d together.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cQuentin said some shit about me recently, so I\u2019m a little irritated by him,\u201d Clooney told GQ<\/a>. \u201cHe did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about [Brad], and somebody else, and then this guy goes, \u2018Well, what about George?\u2019 He goes, he\u2019s not a movie star.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the same interview, Clooney added that it was a \u201cgreat time as a young actor,\u201d a statement he likely stands by today; at the Movies for Grownups Awards, the actor joked that \u201cthe only way I was going to win anything is that Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet is too goddamn young.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile accepting his award, Clooney expressed his gratitude for getting to work with director Noah Baumbach on \u201cJay Kelly.\u201d \u201cThe script is beautiful,\u201d he said. \u201cI couldn\u2019t believe my luck that I got to play the part.\u201d He also noted that he \u201ccouldn\u2019t believe the luck\u201d that he got to reunite with Laura Derns, whom he previously worked with on \u201cGrizzly II: Revenge,\u201d his first movie. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a long, tough couple of years, but we\u2019ll all get through it together,\u201d he concluded.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tClooney\u2019s former \u201cER\u201d co-star Noah Wyle<\/a> presented the actor with his award. Clooney returned the favor when Wyle won his best actor award for \u201cThe Pitt,\u201d\u00a0and joked that AARP should do a \u201csexiest man still alive\u201d issue. \u201cI would nominate Noah Wyle as the first guy,\u201d Clooney said. \u201cWhen I grow up, I want to be Noah Wyle.\u201d <\/p>\n
