{"id":40379,"date":"2025-08-01T22:17:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-01T22:17:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/40379\/"},"modified":"2025-08-01T22:17:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-01T22:17:10","slug":"madeline-merlo-supporting-mental-health-in-a-unique-way-swiftcurrentonline-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/40379\/","title":{"rendered":"Madeline Merlo supporting mental health in a unique way &#8211; SwiftCurrentOnline.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Canadian country artist is spreading awareness about mental health in southwestern Saskatchewan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During a recent tour stop in Swift Current at the Living Sky Casino&#8217;s Events Centre, country star Madeline Merlo spoke about some of her struggles with mental health.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At her concert that also featured Shaun Austin on July 24, she was selling postcards in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association that feature her own art of a butterfly, semicolon, and words of encouragement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Roberts, the executive director of the Canadian Mental Health Association\u2019s Swift Current branch, was surprised by the gesture.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had no intentions of buying any merchandise, but when she mentioned that proceeds go to Canadian mental health, whether it&#8217;s accurate or not, I wanted to support.\u201d he said. \u201cAnd just getting that conversation going especially for Madeline, like she used to be Canadian, and now she&#8217;s been living in the states.
