In terms of emotional maturity, Jason Bateman<\/a> has arrested development. <\/p>\n

Or at least he did in a very funny bit for the 2026 Golden Globes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During Sunday night\u2019s ceremony, Bateman and his co-hosts for the \u201cSmartLess\u201d podcast, Sean Hayes<\/a> and Will Arnett<\/a>, presented the award for Best Female Actor in a TV Series \u2015 Comedy or Musical. As the three actors were walking onstage, however, the ceremony\u2019s announcer introduced Bateman in a hilariously brutal way.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease welcome the hosts of \u2018Smartless!\u2019 Sean Hayes, Will Arnett and \u2014 a guy who\u2019s never really been my thing \u2014 Jason Bateman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bateman slowed down and looked around for a bit, looking completely confused and annoyed. Hayes went ahead and began to read the teleprompter like Bateman wasn\u2019t fuming.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year\u2019s nominees for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy truly raised the bar by delivering nuanced, unparalleled performances\u2014\u201d Hayes began. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo we\u2019re just gonna pretend that didn\u2019t just happen?\u201d Bateman interjected with his back turned toward the audience. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe announcer? He said, \u2018Jason Bateman\u2019s not really my thing?\u2019 Who says that?\u201d Bateman said. <\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, a lot of people kinda say that,\u201d Arnett said, sheepishly.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs that right? Really?\u201d Bateman said with a quiet intensity.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah man, you\u2019re not everybody\u2019s thing. That\u2019s OK,\u201d Arnett said. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think you\u2019re great,\u201d Hayes said, trying to deflate the tension. \u201cI loved \u2018Ozark.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d Bateman said before taking a pause and realizing Hayes was just trying to placate him. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhat was it about?\u201d Bateman asked Hayes suspiciously.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was about three seasons too long,\u201d Hayes said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook man! \u2026 Dude \u2026Somehow you manage to make a \u2018Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Musical or Comedy\u2019 category about you.\u201d That is just \u2014 wow, that\u2019s wild.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cDo you get it now?\u201d the announcer said, earning a laugh from the audience. <\/p>\n

And just FYI, Jean Smart went on to win the category<\/a> for her role in \u201cHacks.\u201d<\/p>\n
