The Utah Mammoth<\/a> announced Sunday that forward Alex Kerfoot has been placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury and is considered week-to-week. <\/p>\n

The Mammoth have recalled forward Kevin Rooney from the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL).<\/p>\n

In a corresponding move, the team also announced they have recalled forward Kevin Rooney from their AHL affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners. <\/p>\n

Kerfoot left the Mammoth bench midway through the first period of their game last Friday<\/a> against the St. Louis Blues<\/a>. It\u2019s not clear how he sustained the injury, but he finished the night with 2:21 of ice time over five shifts. <\/p>\n

Kerfoot has dealt with injuries for most of the 2025-26, appearing in just nine total games after undergoing surgery in October, delaying his regular-season debut to Dec. 19. In those nine games, Kerfoot has one goal<\/a> while averaging 10:20 of ice time. <\/p>\n

Through nine NHL seasons, Kerfoot has 99 goals and 194 assists for 293 points in 614 career regular-season games with Utah, the Arizona Coyotes, Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> and Colorado Avalanche<\/a>. His best offensive season came in 2021-22 with the Leafs, where he finished with 13 goals and a career-high 38 assists and 51 points. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s also played in 48 Stanley Cup Playoff games, where he\u2019s posted six goals and 12 assists for 18 points. <\/p>\n

Taken in the fifth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils<\/a>, Kerfoot spent two full seasons in the BCHL with the Coquitlam Express, where he scored 33 goals and 55 assists for 88 points in 72 games. He went on to play NCAA hockey at Harvard, where in four seasons he finished with 36 goals and 87 assists for 123 points in 121 career games. <\/p>\n
