{"id":404658,"date":"2026-01-12T13:25:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T13:25:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/404658\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T13:25:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T13:25:19","slug":"man-admits-causing-golf-course-crash-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/404658\/","title":{"rendered":"Man admits causing golf course crash death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img alt=\"A black and white photo of a woman in a black leather jacket smiling\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"623\" height=\"351\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/c6008acfcffe7e6efa15923c3606d85f.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Suzanne Cherry died four days after she was struck at Aston Wood Golf Club, in Staffordshire [Family]<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A man has admitted killing a woman hit by a van on a golf course.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Suzanne Cherry, 62, died in hospital in April, four days after she was hit at Aston Wood Golf Club in Staffordshire by a grey Nissan, which had been involved in a police pursuit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">John McDonald, 51, admitted causing death by dangerous driving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He is expected to be sentenced later today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">McDonald, from Bloxwich, along with Brett Delaney, 34, from Dudley, and Jonny McDonald, 22, from Walsall, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">All three men had previously denied manslaughter charges last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Cherry, from Aldridge, West Midlands, was killed &#8220;while enjoying what should have been the safest&#8221;
