DeKALB, Ill. –\u00a0The Northern Illinois University women’s tennis day is competing in the Northwestern Invitational this weekend in Evanston, Ill. at the\u00a0Combe Tennis Center along with Northwestern and DePaul.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The three-day invite will produce only individual results and not team scores with three rounds of doubles and singles each day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Friday

\nThe Huskies notched a pair of doubles\u00a0wins over Northwestern on Friday afternoon.\u00a0Isabella Righi<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Lucia Yecora<\/a>\u00a0defeated NU’s Maia Loureiro \/ Margot Phanthala\u00a06-4.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The sophomore duo of\u00a0Irmak Budak<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Theodora Kousiou<\/a>\u00a0downed NU’s Autumn Rabjohns \/ Mika Dagan Fruchtman by the same score of 6-4.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Against DePaul, the Huskies recorded a pair of doubles wins.\u00a0Nataly Ninova<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Malika Kabdesh<\/a>\u00a0posted a 6-3 victory over Clara Nilsson \/ Hannah Smith.<\/p>\n

Righi\u00a0scored another doubles win\u00a0on Saturday, this time with\u00a0Lucia Yecora<\/a>\u00a0as Righi \/ Yecora\u00a0defeated Helin Alvarez \/ Roberta Sechi 6-2.\u00a0<\/p>\n
