Kensington Palace<\/a> has announced an exciting appearance for Princess Catherine<\/a> – and fans do not have long to wait. In her role as the Patron of the Rugby Football Union, the Princess of Wales will host a reception at Windsor Castle on Thursday for England’s Women’s Rugby Team following their World Cup victory last year.<\/p>\n

When they arrive, the players and team staff will be given a tour of the Castle before joining the Princess to celebrate their achievement. They will show The Princess the Rugby World Cup during the special reception.<\/p>\n

To take home the trophy back in September, the Red Roses beat Canada 33-13.<\/p>\n

Although she missed the team’s triumph against Canada, she shared a message on social media before the Red Roses stormed to victory.<\/p>\n

She wrote: “Good luck England! Wishing the very best of luck to the @redrosesrugby in their Women’s Rugby World Cup Final at Twickenham today. We’re so proud of you! C”.<\/p>\n

Alongside the personal message, the Princess shared a photograph of herself posing alongside players Megan Jones, Ellie Kildunne and Jess Breach, with the latter two in white cowboy hats featuring the team’s signature red rose. Catherine, meanwhile, wore a red cowboy hat with a tiara-like design across the front.<\/p>\n

The Prince and Princess of Wales are both known for their love of the sport. In 2007, in the early days of their romance, the couple joined Prince Harry<\/a> to watch England vs Italy in a Six Nations match at Twickenham.<\/p>\n

Catherine was named patron of the Rugby Football Union in 2022, after Prince Harry<\/a> was forced to give up the position as part of the \u2018Megxit\u2019 deal. While the Princess is the patron of the RFU, Prince William<\/a> is the Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union.<\/p>\n
