\u201cObviously, it\u2019s an unfortunate way to happen \u2014 Stro\u2019s a great guy and I had some good conversations with him,\u201d said Schlittler, who will start Saturday. \u201cBut at the end of the day, it\u2019s a business. I\u2019m just thankful they\u2019re going to give me an opportunity to stay around and try to go compete and win games.<\/p>\n

Schlittler called Thursday a \u201cweird\u201d day. He was a name clubs asked about when the Yankees were trying to acquire help for their bullpen, rotation and third base, which he tried to tune out as best he could.
