Iron & Wine<\/a> have announced their return with \u2018In Your Ocean\u2019, the first taste of the upcoming album \u2018Hen\u2019s Teeth\u2019 \u2013 listen below.<\/p>\n

The project of South Carolina singer-songwriter Sam Beam, Iron & Wine have been active since the early 2000s and have worked alongside the likes of Fiona Apple<\/a>, Calexico <\/a>and Jesca Hoop.<\/p>\n

The eighth Iron & Wine studio album will be \u2018Hen\u2019s Teeth\u2019 and is set to be released via Sub Pop on February 27 \u2013 you can pre-order it\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The first single \u2018In Your Ocean\u2019 sees Beam singing about a love so deep that he wants to physically merge with his partner: \u201cPraying for dry ground \/ Though I only want to drown \/ When I find myself swimming in your ocean\u201d,\u00a0Beam sings.<\/p>\n

\u2018Hen\u2019s Teeth\u2019 has been described as a \u201csibling record\u201d to the\u00a0previous\u00a0Iron & Wine album \u2018Light Verse\u2019 in 2024, which was nominated for a Grammy. Produced by Dave Way (Fiona Apple, Jakob Dylan, Sheryl Crow), it sees Beam work alongside his daughter Arden for the first time, with the latter contributing vocals to \u2018Roses\u2019,\u00a0\u2018Singing Saw\u2019,\u00a0\u2018Defiance, Ohio\u2019 and \u2018Grace Notes\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Grammy-winning Americana trio\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0With Her also\u00a0feature on\u00a0two tracks on the record, \u2018Robin\u2019s Egg\u2019 and \u2018Wait Up\u2019.<\/p>\n

Beam has explained the meaning of \u2018Hen\u2019s Teeth\u2019 as an album title: \u201cTo me it suggests the impossible. Hen\u2019s teeth do not exist. And\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0what this record felt like: a gift that\u00a0shouldn\u2019t\u00a0be\u00a0there\u00a0but it is. An impossible thing but\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0real.\u201d<\/p>\n

Iron & Wine have also confirmed that they will be playing UK dates later in 2026, although the details are yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
