That\u2019s a tough loss. When he\u2019s not playing, it means a lot. … When you lose a leader like that, you never really lose him because his presence is still in this locker room. His energy is still here.\u201d<\/p>\n The Niners will have to carry on without one of their top weapons as they head to Seattle this weekend.<\/p>\n The Seahawks finished the regular season as the top seed in the NFC with a 14-3 record, clinching both the division and conference after beating San Francisco 13-3 in a pivotal Week 18 matchup.<\/p>\n Seattle\u2019s defence stymied a high-powered Niners offence in that contest, not allowing a first down for the entirety of the first quarter and limited them to just one field goal en route to the victory.<\/p>\n Darnold completed 20-of-26 passing attempts for 198 yards in the regular-season finale, playing turnover-free football while relying heavily on the defence and run game.<\/p>\n The USC product struggled mightily in his lone playoff start last season as a member of the Minnesota Vikings<\/a>, taking nine sacks in a 27-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> in the Wild Card.<\/p>\n He will look for better results this time around as he looks to lead Seattle to their first NFC Championship since 2014.<\/p>\n (5) Texans vs. (2) Patriots<\/p>\n The Divisional Round on Sunday wraps up with two more games, beginning with Drake Maye<\/a> and the New England Patriots<\/a> playing host to C.J. I\u2019ve been saying that all season,\u201d defensive end Milt Williams said after his two-sack performance. \u201cWe can control the game. If we do what we need to do up front, we\u2019re going to win.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s playoff football. It\u2019s going to get ugly. It\u2019s going to get nasty. But you\u2019ve got to keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n Maye threw for 268 yards, a touchdown, and one interception in his first career playoff start, also adding 66 yards on the ground to finish as the team\u2019s leading rusher.<\/p>\n Houston\u2019s defence also showed out in their Wild Card victory, a 30-6 drubbing off the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> on Monday night to reach the Divisional Round for the third straight year.<\/p>\n The Texans limited Pittsburgh to just 175 total yards while returning a fumble and interception for touchdowns, with head coach DeMeco Ryans later calling it the best defensive performance in the history of the franchise.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re here for it all,\u201d defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins<\/a> said after the game. \u201cI won\u2019t sugarcoat it, won\u2019t dance around that topic. We\u2019ll see what it is. I was obviously able to finish the game and throw it decent. Once the ball\u2019s snapped, the adrenaline\u2019s pretty good, so we\u2019ll hopefully just keep it going.\u201d<\/p>\n He was later diagnosed with an index finger sprain, but has already confirmed he will be under centre against the Bears this week.<\/p>\n Star pass-catcher Puka Nacua<\/a> finished the game with 10 receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns \u2013 one through the air, another on the ground \u2013 continuing his stellar play from the regular season.<\/p>\n The Bears overcame a sluggish start in their wild-card round game, and came on in the second half to erase an 18-point deficit for a stunning win against the Green Bay Packers<\/a> last time out.<\/p>\n Williams threw for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help Chicago earn their first playoff win in 15 years, also recording his seventh game-winning drive of the 2025 season in the process.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s no fluke,\u201d Williams said after completing the comeback. \u201cIt\u2019s no, \u2018Oh, this happened, we\u2019re lucky.\u2019 We\u2019ve done it multiple times this year.
