{"id":406942,"date":"2026-01-13T18:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T18:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/406942\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T18:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T18:46:08","slug":"casper-ruud-on-baby-watch-tennis-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/406942\/","title":{"rendered":"Casper Ruud on Baby Watch \u2013 Tennis Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Richard Pagliaro | Tuesday, January 13, 2026<br \/>Photo credit: BNP Paribas Nordic Open Facebook<\/p>\n<p>Days before the Australian Open begins, Casper Ruud is on major birth watch.<\/p>\n<p>Ruud\u2019s fianc\u00e9 Maria Galligani is pregnant with the couple\u2019s first child, a daughter, and expected to give birth \u201cat any time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennisnow.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" data-lazyloaded=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"610\" height=\"130\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/WinterSale.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-59458\"  data-\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So while former world No. 2 Ruud is preparing for the season\u2019s first Grand Slam at Melbourne Park, he\u2019s also ready to bolt back home immediately if his fianc\u00e9 goes into labor in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p>Ruud told the media in Auckland the couple plans to get married later this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, [the baby] can come any time now,\u201d Ruud said. \u201cSo hopefully I get to stay for the rest of the tournament, but you never know.
