Nov. 28 is a date circled on everyone\u2019s calendars in the Lone Star State. Texas<\/a> and Texas A&M<\/a> will face off in Austin for the first time since 2010, ending a 15-year drought. It\u2019s another edition of a renewed rivalry, filled with some of the sport\u2019s top players.<\/p>\n

Two of those are Anthony Hill<\/a> and Colin Simmons<\/a>, both on the Texas side. But when asked about the duo, Texas A&M offensive lineman Ar\u2019maj Reed-Adams<\/a> shrugged off the idea of the individualistic matchup. Instead, he is focused on going up against the entire Longhorns defense and, most importantly, getting a win.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust doing what we\u2019re supposed to do,\u201d Reed-Adams said<\/a> Thursday at SEC Media Days. \u201cIt\u2019s going to come. We\u2019re not really worried about a single player at all. We\u2019re just worried about winning the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hill and Simmons put up similar stat lines during the 2024 matchup. Five tackles were recorded each and none in the backfield. Neither got a tackle for a loss or sack, something we grew accustomed to seeing from the Texas stars. Instead, it was the likes of now-New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Vernon Broughton<\/a> causing havoc, snatching two sacks.<\/p>\n

Reed-Adams is expected to have a heavy dose of pressure coming his way. Hill and Simmons included but Texas is not afraid to throw multiple looks at Texas A&M. Luckily, Reed-Adams is a part of one of college football\u2019s best offensive line groups.<\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Greg McElroy ranked the unit at No. 2 heading into the season<\/a>. Plenty of experience is in College Station and with quite a bit of depth. Texas A&M has its top seven offensive linemen returning, something not a lot of programs can say.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this day and age, that\u2019s a good thing,\u201d head coach Mike Elko<\/a> said<\/a> of the offensive line\u2019s experience via ESPN\u2019s Chris Low. \u201cObviously we\u2019ve got a lot of experience, a lot of veteran players in that group. And back in 2020, that\u2019s where it all started.\u201d<\/p>\n

Very few things are more important to Texas and Texas A&M than beating each other. Especially after such a long break, the Aggies want to get back on the right side. Round 1 of the SEC battle went in favor of the Longhorns.<\/p>\n

For Reed-Adams, making sure his team comes out of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium winners is more important than any individual matchup.
