No one thought the Phoenix Suns<\/a> would be where they are at this point in the season, but under first-year head coach Jordan Ott, The Valley is activated.<\/p>\n

Phoenix is one of the biggest revelations of the NBA season and, despite being projected to be a bottom feeder post-Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, is contending for a guaranteed spot in the playoffs midway through the season, sitting at 24-15.<\/p>\n

NBA.com\u2019s John Schuhmann released his\u00a0power rankings for Week 13<\/a>\u00a0of the season and the Suns<\/a> came in at the fifth spot.<\/p>\n

\u201c The Suns are 0-3 against the Rockets<\/a> after a three-point loss last Monday, but they\u2019ve climbed past Houston and into sixth place in the West,\u201d Schuhmann wrote. \u201cThey\u2019ve won nine of their last 11 games, a stretch that includes victories over the Lakers<\/a>, Thunder<\/a> and Knicks<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

PHX\u2019s upcoming schedule<\/p>\n

Phoenix is riding three-straight wins into its three-game slate this week and is going on its longest Eastern Conference road trip of the season, starting with the Miami Heat<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The Suns\u2019 last two games of this week are clashes against the conference\u2019s top two teams \u2014 the Detroit Pistons<\/a> on Thursday and the New York Knicks<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Phoenix already has a statement win against the Knicks under its belt this season. This road trip could be where the Suns prove to everyone that they are a top team in the league.<\/p>\n
