\n\tThe cause of death of Ethan Browne<\/a>, the eldest son of singer-songwriter\u00a0Jackson Browne<\/a>, has been revealed.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed on Tuesday, Jan. 13, that Ethan died at the age of 52 from the \u201ceffects of fentanyl, methamphetamine and lidocaine.\u201d His death was determined to be accidental.<\/p>\n \n\tJackson confirmed his son\u2019s passing in a previous Instagram statement late last year that read: \u201cIt is with deep sorrow that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Browne, the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and has passed away. We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tBorn Nov. 2, 1973, Ethan was raised in Los Angeles. He worked as a model and appeared in the 1995 crime thriller\u00a0Hackers, featured in an episode of the TV series\u00a0Birds of Prey, and had a small role in the 2004 rom-com\u00a0Raising Helen.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tHe launched record label, Spinside Records, with the multi-instrumentalist Cat Colbert to form Alain Zane. The duo released their debut album,\u00a0Right Before Your Eyes, in 2022 via the label.<\/p>\n \n\tJust six months after his birth, Ethan appeared in his father\u2019s arms on the\u00a0cover of\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/a>. In the\u00a0accompanying story<\/a>, Jackson discussed his then-burgeoning career and new fatherhood. \u201cI wanted a baby \u2019cause I wanted to be a baby,\u201d he said. \u201cI play with [Ethan] all the time; there\u2019s something pure about it.
