\u201cAlthough I was shocked Gal came back for the Sonny Bill Williams fight,\u201d Rose started. \u201cBecause I thought he was done.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I don\u2019t mean that in a disrespectful manner.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believed he\u2019d done a s***load for Australian boxing, put on shows that a lot of people tuned in to, and made a lot of money.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I also thought Gal was done, that he was past his best, and that he\u2019d done enough to not have to come back and fight.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe did though, and he looked fit.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut Nelson Asofa-Solomona is way fitter, way stronger and he\u2019s way more powerful.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a fight that, if I were advising Gal, I\u2019d say \u2018stay the hell away from it\u2019 because Nelson will do damage.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another potential option being whispered should Asofa-Solomona win on debut is Scott, with the 2017 Storm premiership winner currently pursuing fights across boxing, bare-knuckle and MMA.<\/p>\n
Rose, however, refused to be drawn on who could be next for his newest signing in victory, however acknowledged Gal will likely be in the crowd on Friday night cheering Latimore, while Scott will be in his corner \u2013 with the pair sharing the same coach, Brian Doyle.<\/p>\n
Yet it can also now be revealed that Burgess, who played over 160 top grade games for Souths, St George Illawarra and Wigan \u2013 plus 15 Tests for England \u2013 is in talks about his own No Limit heavyweight debut. <\/p>\n

Still only 33, the younger brother of NRL legend Sam Burgess is also only four years removed from top grade rugby league, where his highlights included a starring try in the Bunnies\u2019 2014 Grand Final win against the Bulldogs. <\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Rose also talked about the potential of Asofa-Solomona starring in multiple sports, while also declaring the 200cm giant capable of becoming \u201cone of the biggest stars in Australian sport\u201d.<\/p>\n
Asked initially if Asofa-Solomona\u2019s new deal was for fighting exclusively, Rose laughed: \u201cThere\u2019s nothing to stop him playing snooker, darts, any other non-contact sport.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut look, it\u2019s a conversation we would have.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause I believe with Nelson\u2019s athletic ability, if he can do multiple sports and still fight at the elite level, that\u2019s a great marketing tool.<\/p>\n
\u201cI still think he can still be the most devastating front-rower in rugby league.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut he would have to have the desire to do that.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd if he was doing that and still knocking people out on No Limit events, he becomes an Australian sporting star.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot a boxing star, or an NRL star … but one of the biggest stars in Australian sport.\u201d<\/p>\n
Soon after, Rose continued of the former Stormer\u2019s potential: \u201cNelson can go absolutely anywhere.<\/p>\n

Asked specifically what had coaxed him to switch, he said: \u201cI had my team look after it all.<\/p>\n

Already, Asofa-Solomona has confirmed his interest in a Gallen fight, and after Wednesday\u2019s press conference further fuelled the bout — suggesting the Cronulla premiership hero would agree so long as the purse was heavy enough.<\/p>\n

While the new heavyweight also stressed he wasn\u2019t thinking specifically about who might be next — \u201cI\u2019m just taking it a fight at a time\u201d \u2013 he did admit to having some fight week nerves on the eve of his showdown with Latimore, who has undefeated in two appearances.<\/p>\n
