There has been a major shakeup in the cast of the Peacock soap opera series Days of Our Lives<\/a>, with a report claiming that four actors have been fired from the show.<\/p>\n

The alleged firings happened when the actors returned from their holiday hiatus, though fans won\u2019t notice any changes on the show until the end of the year as the show films 10 months in advance. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a New Year bloodbath at Days of Our Lives this month as the cast returned from a Christmas hiatus,\u201d a source told Daily Mail<\/a>. \u201cFour cast members were immediately let go. [They] were given their walking papers in a shock move as soon as the show resumed taping after the holidays. Days decided they needed to switch things up. All four actors were let go last week within a day of getting back from the show\u2019s holiday hiatus. They were totally blindsided.\u201d<\/p>\n

A rep for the show says that actors have been let go for story decisions. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we don\u2019t comment on individual contracts or casting decisions, we have tremendous respect and appreciation for the actors who bring these characters to life,\u201d a spokesperson said<\/a>. \u201cWhat may seem sudden is part of long-range storytelling decisions. Our goal is to balance the show\u2019s rich history with where we\u2019re headed creatively. Due to our long tape-to-air gap, any changes won\u2019t be on screen for some time.\u201d<\/p>\n
