A new hub at Wolverhampton University has been set up to look at how Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used to improve research, business and culture.<\/p>\n
The Digital Futures Lab will officially launch on 7 February and offer academics, students, businesses and organisations a chance to collaborate across their fields, the university said.<\/p>\n
The launch event will show people cutting-edge applications of VR and AI and show how digital tools are “reshaping approaches to language, literature, and culture”.<\/p>\n
Prof Sebastian Groes, lab director, said the hub embodied the university’s commitment to innovation in research and culture. <\/p>\n
Attendees at the launch will hear from several professors talking about subjects including AI, technology, chatbots and algorithms used to analyse complex data.<\/p>\n
“As higher education evolves, the arts and humanities are embracing digital and computational methods to open new perspectives on literature, language, and society,” Groes added.<\/p>\n
“At Wolverhampton, we’re combining expertise in areas such as computational literary studies to develop creative, technology-driven solutions that address social challenges, enhance health and wellbeing, and contribute to global sustainability goals.”<\/p>\n
