{"id":408953,"date":"2026-01-14T15:59:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T15:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/408953\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T15:59:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T15:59:08","slug":"watch-goat-joins-mystery-monkeys-on-the-loose-in-missouri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/408953\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch: Goat joins mystery monkeys on the loose in Missouri"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>Jan. 13 (UPI) &#8212; Authorities in Missouri said the multiple monkeys on the loose in St. Louis have been joined by a wayward goat &#8212; and attempts to find the animals are being hampered by AI.<\/p>\n<p>The St. Louis Department of Health confirmed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/aaliyah.thee.stallions\/posts\/pfbid0Q1NXLPCaKXjUugJTWiS8jQbcxNFGsLKAWsyJDTdLjVsMcZLgomeL2GwEQ1JYD71sl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a black and white goat<\/a> has been seen wandering loose in the same city where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upi.com\/Odd_News\/2026\/01\/12\/St-Louis-mystery-monkeys-search\/3141768230888\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">at least four vervet monkeys<\/a> were spotted during the weekend.\n<\/p>\n<p>Officials said they are still trying to determine the origins of the animals, and they are asking for assistance from anyone with information about where the monkeys or the goat came from.<\/p>\n<p>Willie Springer, a spokesperson for the Health Department, said the search for the animals has been further complicated by photos on social media that turned out to be generated by artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been a lot in regard to AI and what&#8217;s genuine and what&#8217;s not,&#8221; Springer <a href=\"https:\/\/fox2now.com\/news\/missouri\/rare-monkeys-on-the-loose-in-global-spotlight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">told Fox 2 News<\/a>. &#8220;People are just having fun.
