FORT MYERS, Fla. \u2014 Due to inclement weather in Miami, the Florida Gulf Coast University women’s tennis team will have to wait a few more days to begin its spring schedule. Wednesday’s match at Miami has been postponed and is rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 21.<\/p>\n
The Eagles will now open the season at home against St. John’s. FGCU leads the all-time series 3\u20130 and last defeated the Red Storm, 4\u20131, on March 4. FGCU finished the 2025 season with a 12\u20139 overall record, including a 6\u20133 mark in ASUN play.<\/p>\n
St. John’s went 14\u20137 overall with a 5\u20131 record in the Big East last season, while Miami finished 10\u201313 overall and 4\u20138 in ACC play in 2025.<\/p>\n
Following the opener on Friday, the Eagles will host Miami (Ohio) on Saturday at 10 a.m. The RedHawks finished last season 10\u201310 overall and 9\u20131 in the Mid-American Conference.
