DALLAS (SMU) \u2014\u00a0SMU Men’s Tennis junior Trevor Svajda<\/a> earned a singles main card wild card invite for\u00a0the Nexo Dallas Open, as announced\u00a0on Wednesday. The tournament will be held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on Feb. 7-15.

\nThis will be Svajda’s third appearance at the ATP Tour 500 tournament after making his debut at the tournament in 2024. He also earned a main draw wild card invite last year but fell in the first round of the tournament.

\n“It has been an incredible 12 months, and DO’25 really was the launching pad for me. I learned and grew so much playing at The Star in Frisco, and I’m thrilled to return for the Nexo Dallas Open next month,” said Svajda.

\nSvajda placed runner-up at the 2025 NCAA Singles Championship last fall. He became the first Mustang to reach the championship match since Richey Reneberg in 1986. He was ranked No. 2 in the ITA singles rankings and has opened the season with a straight set win over Mississippi State’s No. 54 Benito Sanchez Martinez (6-2, 6-3).

\nThis year’s Nexo Dallas Open is highlighted by four of the highest-ranked American players in the world\u00a0\u2014 Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, and 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals Champion Learner Tien \u2014 all of whom are scheduled to compete in North Texas. They are joined by Casper Ruud (Norway), Grigor Dimitrov (Bulgaria), Defending Nexo Dallas Open Champion Denis Shapovalov (Canada) and several notable players.
