While Jones won both matchups against Cormier, the rivalry also featured plenty of heated moments, including a famous media day brawl on the floor of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>Cormier and Jones reignited their feud as coaches on ALF Reality 3, a reality television series filmed in Thailand. The two UFC rivals coached opposite each other and trained some of the top MMA prospects in the region in a to-be-released season.<\/p>\n<p>Despite previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bjpenn.com\/mma-news\/ufc\/jon-jones-hopes-start-friendship-daniel-cormier-alf-reality-3\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">calling for a ceasefire<\/a> with Cormier, Jones recently pivoted on his earlier cordial stance towards his former foe. Jones recently called Cormier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bjpenn.com\/mma-news\/jon-jones\/jon-jones-explodes-daniel-cormier-first-comments-reality-tv-show-filming\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an \u2018a\u2014\u2013\u2018 and a \u2018d\u2014\u2014\u2018<\/a> and scolded Cormier for his alleged treatment of some fighters and coaches during the show.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Cormier responds to Jon Jones\u2019s latest personal attacks after coaching fighters<\/p>\n<p>During an interview on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/jiC2ZLUVm4o?si=vtcI-W5oFnMjTiFz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Ariel Helwani Show<\/a>, Cormier responded to Jones\u2019s harsh remarks.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe I\u2019m all those things to him, but here\u2019s the deal: we were around each other every single day, and we were cordial,\u201d Cormier said of Jones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were times when Jon and I actually laughed at stuff, but if I didn\u2019t have to be around him, I\u2019m not going to voluntarily be around him. Why would I want that? I don\u2019t harbor the emotions from the past that I did with him. I really don\u2019t. But we spoke negatively about each other\u2019s families. We had a nasty, nasty [situation]. He cheated constantly. I don\u2019t have to let him off the hook or be his friend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat would be just going \u2018Everything you did is good\u2019. It\u2019s just not! I can do my thing, but I don\u2019t have to be your friend,\u201d Cormier continued. \u201cI\u2019m a man, and it is what it is. Happy endings and fairy tales are for kids to go to bed at night\u2026you don\u2019t have to be friends with everyone you had a problem with. I can do a show with him, want to beat him, and we don\u2019t have to be friends. You don\u2019t need to have fairy tale endings to everything in life. Life ain\u2019t fair.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jones announced his retirement from MMA last summer, but has since teased a potential comeback at the White House event later this year.
