Dr. Lacy Anderson has what research shows actually helps brain health.<\/p>\n<p>In general, Anderson says memory supplements don\u2019t work to prevent dementia or significantly boost memory in healthy people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpecific nutrients like Omega-3\u2019s, some B vitamins and Magnesium L-Threonate show promise in research for supporting brain health,\u201d Anderson said. \u201cThere is no strong evidence that supplements prevent Alzheimer\u2019s or dementia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anderson says for those with a vitamin B12 deficiency, B12 supplements can improve some symptoms because B12 is needed for healthy nerve and brain function.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVitamin D deficiencies are also linked to poor memory,\u201d Anderson said. \u201cVitamin deficiencies are common in the elderly due to poor nutrition.
